She started the institution in 1976 along with late Dr Ernest Gokavi and continues to be the backbone of the institution.

Completed MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Institite of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research ( JIPMER ). JIPMER is a `Centre of Excellence` in Obstetrics and Gynecology, administered directly by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Worked as Senior registrar in the Reproductive Medicine Unit ( RMU ) at Christian Medical College (CMC ) Vellore and is adequately trained in all latest techniques in Reproductive medicine including IUI / IVF /ICSI .
Susequently worked as clinical fellow in Gynaecological Endoscopy at Bombay Endoscopic Academy and centre for Minimally invasive Surgery ( BEAMS ) under Dr Rakesh Sinha , who is a pioneer of advanced gynaecological endoscopic surgeries in India .
At present is also the clinical director of The hubli assisted conception centre ( HACC ). HACC is a dedicated infertility evaluation and treatment centre started by a group of gynaecologists in hubli.The centre does about 50-60 IUI procedures per month and about 12-15 fresh IVF / ICSI cycles per month.
Dr Shailesh is the pioneer of advanced Gynaecological laparoscopic surgery in North Karnataka and is actively involed in teaching programmes in Endoscopy and Infertility in the entire region.

Completed her Masters degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the prestigious King Edward Memorial (KEM) hospital , Mumbai.
Completed Fellowship in Fetal Medicine (BFMC, Bangalore), Established `SUKRUTI`, Hubballi`s first dedicated Fetal Medicine Centre.
